SECRET MESSAGE TO FELLOW WATER EXERCISER
“Stand up straight,” she says.
“Just use your arms.
You’re using your whole body.
That’s why your arms aren’t getting stronger.”
My arms aren’t strong enough?
For six years, I transferred my partially paralyzed husband,
weighing over 150 pounds, from bed to wheelchair,
to commode, to recliner--if you only knew.
“Those are big dumbbells,” she says.
“Smaller ones would be easier.”
I once threw my husband from point A to point B.
I could throw you across the pool,
but after six years,
I won’t be a caregiver again.
